...I grew up in a community with a huge enclave of Spanish-speaking residents and business owners. It was like growing up in an urban pueblo of Puerto Rico. I made it a point to keep strong ties with my culture and the Spanish language, In fact the first college I enrolled in immediately after high school was called Boricua College, a bilingual and bicultural college.
