...In my experience, phonics is very important to help students succeed with spelling and therefore with reading. Working with rhymes, comparing and differentiating sounds should be fun and entertaining to kids. The best approach to phonics is to follow the sequence of teaching letters and their sounds to then work with blending, digraphs, syllables and words with higher complexity. (read more)
