...I teach to instill a sense of curiosity and, while perhaps not necessarily a "joy" of learning, at least a competent tolerance of learning. The skills and content are tough at the beginning, but become easier as success is broken into attainable steps and behaviors. These habits form over time and can be used on other subjects.
