explains why there is (for the moment anyway) not a "right" answer to this.
That example indicates to do multiplications before divisions. That being the rule, the steps will be
6 div.by 2(1+2)
6 div.by 2(3)
6 div.by 6
You can state clear control of how you want to express numbers combined in operations through grouping symbols, or parentheses.
