I forgot how to do these and I don't remember where to begin
Help?
(x-5)/(x^2-4x-5)

start by factoring: http://www.purplemath.com/modules/factquad.htm
x^2-4x-5=(x-5)(x+1)
cancel common factors
dont forget x-5=1(x-5)
