Determine when both options will have the same cost; also determine what this cost will be.

The input variable 'x' represents the number of units produced, and the output variable f(x) represents the cost of this production.

Option A: f(x) = x + 5
Option B: f(x) 2x +3

Answer: units 2; cost: $7.00. Need to know the procedure.

U have y=x+5, y=2x+3
substitute: x+5=2x+3
minus x from both sides, minus 3 from both side, get x
plug x into A or B to get y
