absolute value

Postby music321 » Sat Aug 02, 2014 5:19 pm

Hi,

I understand everything posted in the "absolute value" lesson section. I wonder, however, if there'd ever be a case where I'd need to find the "absolute value of negative x" without knowing if "negative x" is greater or less than zero. If so, how would I go about it? Thanks.

It can come up in calculus. You have to do 2 cases: 1 where x < 0 & 1 where x >= 0.
