Length of hypotenuse

Postby mathagain2 » Sun Mar 27, 2011 12:46 am

Problem: If the length os the hypotenuse of a 45 degree -45 degree right triangle is 7.3 onto the square root 3 cm, find the area and perimeter. What formula do I use to solve this problem? :?:

Draw the triangle. Then use the relationship explained here to figure out the lengths of the two legs.

Add the three side lenghts to get the perimeter, and use the standard area-of-a-triangle formula to find the area.
